1. About the service
iTorg is a marketplace for used Apple products in Iceland, run by b2 ehf. (kennitala 500522-1000) (“we”, “us”). We bring buyers and sellers together: users post listings, get notifications and talk to each other. We don’t own the products, don’t sell them and don’t ship them.
The service is free for users. If we offer paid services later, such as boosted listings, they will have their own terms, which you accept before you buy.
iTorg is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Apple Inc. Apple, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods and other names are trademarks of Apple Inc. and are used only to describe the products listed.
By using iTorg you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use the service.
2. Accounts
Anyone can browse listings. To post a listing, send messages, save an item or set up an alert you need to sign in with an Apple or Google account. We don’t create passwords and never receive your Apple or Google password.
You must be 18 or older, or have a guardian’s consent, to use the service.
You are responsible for what is done through your account. Let us know straight away if you think someone else is using it.
Each person may have only one account. If you sign in with Apple on one device and Google on another, and both use the same email address, they land on the same account.
3. Listings
You may only list items you own and have the full right to sell. The description, condition, specs (such as storage and battery health) and photos must be accurate and of the item itself, not of a similar one or from the manufacturer’s website.
A device offered for sale must not be locked to someone else’s Apple Account (Apple ID), known as Activation Lock, reported stolen or lost, blacklisted by carriers, or owned by someone else, such as an employer or a finance company. If a device is faulty, has been repaired, or contains non-original parts, say so clearly.
Set a price you are actually willing to sell at. Listings with a made-up low price to attract attention, or repeated listings of the same item, may be removed.
If you sell as a business, for example as a shop or reseller, say so in the listing. Consumer law then applies towards the buyer and your obligations are greater than those of a private person selling their own phone.
When an item is sold or no longer for sale, mark it sold or remove the listing, so others don’t waste time on it.
4. The deal itself
Buyer and seller agree the price, payment, handover and shipping between themselves. iTorg is not a party to the deal, does not handle payments and is not responsible for performance, condition, origin or delivery of an item.
Sales between private individuals are generally governed by the Icelandic Sale of Goods Act. A buyer should therefore inspect and test an item carefully before completing the purchase, especially that the device isn’t locked to the previous owner’s Apple Account and that the serial number matches. We recommend meeting somewhere busy and not paying in advance. See our guide to trading safely.
A manufacturer’s warranty, such as Apple’s or AppleCare, follows the device itself and depends on the manufacturer’s terms, not iTorg.
5. Alerts and email
Alerts (Vaktin) compare new listings against search criteria you save and email you when something matches. We try to send notifications as soon as a listing appears, but don’t guarantee that every matching listing is delivered, or when.
We only send email related to your use: a welcome email, alert notifications and notifications of new messages. You can turn alerts and email off at any time on the Alerts and Settings pages. We don’t send newsletters or marketing email.
6. Messages and conduct
Messages on iTorg are for discussing listings. You may not use the service to harass people, send spam or advertising for other things, attempt fraud (for example fake payment receipts, requests for advance payment or links to fake payment pages), sell counterfeit or stolen goods, collect information about other users, or try to get around the site’s security.
Treat others as you would like to be treated. Offers are welcome, rudeness is not.
7. Reports, moderation and bans
Anyone signed in can report a listing with the “Report listing” button. We look at every report. The seller is not told who reported them.
We may hide or remove listings that breach these terms, are misleading, don’t belong on iTorg or are reported with good reason, and recategorise listings in the wrong category. We may also restrict or close the account of a user who breaks these rules. A ban hides everything that person has for sale and prevents new listings and messages.
We don’t read messages between users except to respond to a report of abuse, a suspicion of fraud, or when the law requires it. We hand information to the police when the law requires it or a crime is suspected.
If you think a listing or account was taken down unfairly, drop us a line and we’ll look into it.
8. Your content and intellectual property
You keep the rights to the photos, descriptions and other content you post. By posting it you give us permission to show it on iTorg and in connection with the service, such as in emails to users with an alert and in previews when a link to a listing is shared on social media or in messages. The permission ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except for what has already been sent or shared.
You may only post content you have the right to use. Photos from Apple’s website or from other sellers may not be used.
The website itself, its design, text, logo and the listings database belong to us or our licensors. Listings may not be copied in bulk, the site may not be scraped, and its content may not be republished without permission.
9. Liability
The service is provided as it is at any given time. We try to keep it up and correct, but don’t guarantee it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from deals between users, incorrect information in listings, notifications that don’t arrive or arrive late, or temporary unavailability of the service.
Price guides shown on the site, such as the “Good price” badge and the median of comparable listings, are calculated from listings on iTorg and are for reference only. They are not a valuation and not a guarantee of an item’s value.
The search on the home page uses AI to turn what you type into filters. It can misunderstand, and the results are always the responsibility of the person looking at them.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory law, for example consumer law when the seller is a business.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your listings, photos, alerts, saved items and messages are deleted straight away.
We may close or restrict the accounts of users who breach these terms, and discontinue the service in whole or in part with reasonable notice.
11. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms. The date of the last change is shown at the top of the page. We announce significant changes by email or prominently on the site before they take effect. Continued use after that counts as acceptance.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. A dispute that can’t be resolved by talking may be brought before the Reykjavík District Court. Consumers may also turn to the Icelandic Consumer Agency (Neytendastofa) or the Consumer Complaints Committee.
Questions about the terms can be sent to itorg@itorg.is.
